My work and philosophy center the importance of Black Lives, Black history/futurity and stories in hopes to inspire, strengthen solidarity, to reimagine a just world where we can breathe, live, succeed, and thrive differently and together. I am an educator, community building consultant, choreographer, facilitator and writer and has created and produced several original productions that explore Black diasporic life and resilience in Canada in the afterlife of slavery. I was named a CBC Black Changemaker in 2023 for dedicated community work.
For over a decade I have worked in both the Higher Education and Artistic fields by weaving creativity, support, consultation and problem solving. With a master’s in organizational leadership, I dissect the inner workings of organizations to help develop new business strategies, approaches and avenues of growth. In higher education, empathy and care are my guiding principles as I help students navigate their academic journey which informs my artistic projects in thoughtful storytelling. At the heart of it, I learn how to truly connect and work with people. These roles complement each other, as I draw on leadership and organizational skills to build cohesive teams in both spaces. Together, they allow me to cultivate meaningful connections, foster growth, and create impactful experiences.
