Leona Carthy is a Jamaican born graphic designer, creative consultant and digital artist. She specializes in helping individuals and companies increase target market visibility by creating eye-catching artwork. She’s committed to staying current with trending design and constantly challenges herself to learn more. After freelancing for over 10 years, Leona
launched Leoart, her graphic design business in 2015.
Leona's ongoing relationship with different sectors such as corporations, non-profit organizations, artists and small business owners has propelled her to be soughtafter in her community. She is the creative director for Audace au Féminin, the graphic designer for The Fabienne Colas foundation—creating for Montreal International Black Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Haiti En Folie. Other clients such as the NFB and The Montreal
Museum of Fine Arts to name a few. Having exhibited for the first time locally for “Les Égéries Noires” at Place-des-Arts in 2016, her art has since then adorned the walls of private collectors and her designs have branded clients in Canada, Senegal and the U.S.A.
In 2018, Leona was awarded “The Best Graphic designer” at the Heart of Gold Award ceremony. Her recent work was seen in 2021 for the branding of the Montreal municipal election for Mouvement Montréal.
