Born and raised in Montreal Quebec, Ornela Fankem holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and recently she obtained another Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ornela is looking to establish her career in Nursing. She hopes to begin her career in maternal/newborn or psychiatric health and hopes to grow her nursing skills before returning to school to further her studies in the future. Over the last few years, she has held various leadership positions in the university such as a Social Vice President for her student body, and later went on to hold the position of Diversity and Inclusion. During her time as diversity and inclusion director, she aimed to share and educate students on black history and the impacts that it has made on our world today. Alongside those positions she has also been able to do community volunteering and worked as a prayer coordinator at the church. Her passion for people and change has been her driving force. She hopes to continue volunteering and giving back to her community in any capacity that she can.
