Leroy Phillip is a retired Associate Professor at McGill University, Canada, where he had a 30-year academic career in research, teaching and training, and service to the academic community, locally and internationally. During his career at McGill, he served in key academic positions including, Associate Director of McGill Nutrition and Food Science Centre, and member of McGill Senate. He has extensive experience in animal nutrition research, teaching, and graduate student training. He has a keen interest in global food security, food systems, and international development, and has played major roles in international research projects and workshops dealing with food and nutrition security in the Caribbean, Kenya, and the Philippines. His professional skills include research and analysis, project design, implementation and evaluation, scientific writing and communication, mentoring and human resource training. Though retired, he maintains academic collaborations with colleagues at McGill, and engages with non-profit organizations in Montreal developing and delivering scholarship, mentorship, and internship programmes for Black youth.
